Proposed Schedule of Events

The dates of the gathering were July 18th, 19th 2003

Friday Night: July 18th

bullet  6PM-8PM:     Social mixer BBQ/Pool Party for those arriving early or living close by.
bullet  8PM-10PM:   Big Screen Popcorn Theater viewing haunt videos.
bullet10PM-?:           Late Night Horror Movies

Saturday: July 19th

bullet8AM-5PM:      Prop Swap and Halloween Music/Video Swap (VHS/DVD/LP/ CD) Some haunters that also collect music/videos have requested this and I think it's a great idea. Bring anything Halloween related that you might want to give away, swap or sell. If you have a "collection" of anything Halloween related please bring it to "show and tell".

bulletMorning Seminar: 8AM - Noon.......................Dougie Hack (Douglas Holladay)

BYOD (Bring Your Own Dougie to Hack....)

This seminar can turn a Dougie into a talking mask, talking skull or talking tombstone. We will likely only have time to place the dougie into a wig form and have you finish the mask part at home.

This is a "make it and take it home" seminar. Those that wish to do so can make this prop and take it home. Others may elect to just learn how to do it and not make one at the seminar.

bulletLunch: Noon-1PM

To be provided on site.

Final plan to be determined!

bulletAfternoon Seminar: 1PM - 2PM.....................Mud Monster 101 (Webby)

A beginners guide to working with Monster Mud. This will be a demonstration. Webby will take us thru the steps as she creates a monster mud project. No materials required. Everyone will have an opportunity to get their hands into the mud and you may be able to make a little monster to take home.

bulletAfternoon Seminar: 2PM - 2:30PM.....................Flicker Fire Circuit (PropMaster)

This will be a "make it and take it home" project for those wishing to do so. The materials for this prop will cost approx. $5 and will be provided at cost to those that let me know in advance if they want a kit. To bring your own materials see the list here. A "kit" will also be available at the gathering (let me know).

bulletAfternoon Seminar: 2:30PM - 3:30PM.....................Basic Pneumatic Props (Robbie Dalley)

A beginners guide to working with pneumatics. Robbie will offer his experience in creating a basic air driven prop (two frights pop-up from behind a tombstone).  This would include building the air value from washing machine parts, and adapting a floodlight motion sensor to trigger the event.

bulletAfternoon Seminar: 3:30PM - 4PM..........................Air Brush & Spray Paint (Webby &/or Stan Rife)

Using Air Brush and Spray Can Paint for Tombstones.

Make Up and Air Brush Make Up.

bulletAfternoon Seminar: 4PM - 5PM..........................Using an Ice Cream Motor for Animation (Douglas Holladay)

Using the motor from an Electric Ice Cream Maker in animated props. Ice cream motors are generally in great supply, I have three on hand and could obtain others in various prices of $5 to $15 from thrift stores,  not a problem for me because I frequent thrift store to support my Halloween addiction.  The motors are powerful enough to animate most any prop, noise is it's biggest disadvantage. This will be a demo and not a make it and take it prop.

bulletSat. Night Gathering:
bullet    6PM-8PM:     Dinner (optional): Location to be determined. Social mixer.
bullet    8PM-10PM:   Big Screen Popcorn Theater viewing haunt videos.
bullet    10PM-?:         Late Night Horror Movies
bullet    Evening Swim BBQ/Pool Party?
